This was a min-theme we planned to do before heading out to a Halloween party. So I did not decorate as much as I would normally. We also did not have a themed meal. Our plans ended up changing, but that didn’t stop us! We had some fun taking our pictures.
Speaking of a caveman (and woman) theme, it was not easy to find help for the decorations for this one. I always research my themes for ideas, then I make them our own. This is generally because I can never make anything look like what I find in my research. So, I learned to cope with that and just go with my own versions of them. However, I was not finding much. At least not much that I could try to re-create with my creative skills, which are limited. Also, most sites I found were for children’s dinosaur themed parties. I was looking for more grownup ideas. I resorted to my own head, thought about what we had and what I could do with it. And this is the result.
At least the caveman and cavewoman were an easy couples costume idea! But only because we weren’t going for an authentic look. However, I did have to buy most of our costumes. Regardless, I prefer buying in pieces and making up our own versions. So we wore animal print and caveman accessories.
I love animal print so I used that throughout. It’s just a small area but just enough to add to the theme. I always like to take day and night photos.
My hair and makeup was fun! My hair (which I have a lot of) was just pulled up in a high half up ponytail behind the bone hairband. I did not like the idea of a teased, messy look. So I went with this look instead. This is the video I followed for my makeup.
Later we headed out for dinner. Yep, we stayed in costume. It was Halloween weekend after all! Little did we know that we would be the only ones with Halloween on our minds. At least we brightened up the staff’s night!
